Sunday vintage

Hi once again. It is truly 'Indian summer' here in France and most of the grapes have been harvested. The vineyards are turning yellow, red and orange already - a beautiful autumnal picture!
Finally I have found a stamp that I have been looking for for ages - of a face! She is from Rubber Stampede and I am very happy with her! The papers are 'Hannah' from K&Co which will serve me for Christmas cards as well as any other season.

Just to say that this card won second place in the Hero Arts weekly challenge - I was so happy to be among the winners, so honoured as the entries were so inspiring this time.

These two beauties I received for my birthday from Ros (left) and Paula from Florida (right). A huge thanks to both lovely ladies - I am enjoying them very much!

Hope to see you again soon!

Shabby holiday card for the Hero Arts weekly challenge

Just on time this week to take part in the challenge. I had some Christmassy colour scraps in my basket and as I love mixing and matching papers I decided on a patchwork idea. Very enjoyable work!

TMTA - ATC's handwriting

I read that the theme was handwriting for the Monday ATC challenge and as I haven't made an ATC probably in two years, it inspired me to give it a try.

The ATC's are resting on a miniture Eiffel tower that one of my son's once bought me after visiting Paris with his friends. Ideal for taking photos!
I got the idea of a pearl on the dandelion stamp from Paula - who made a gorgeous creation, just click on her name to see it!

Sunday Postcard art

This is the first time I'm joining in this sunday. I so happened to have some flowers in the scrap basket and really enjoy a bit of collage. The challenge can be found here.
Funnily enough, even though it's vintage, the stamps are all Hero arts. It's the colours that make the difference.

RAK

First of all, I couldn't resist to change my blog - I'm in for a change at times and I rather like these swirls!

This came about through a RAK from an on-line shop in France. A delivery of an order always brings a surprise and this time the green folder, button, flower and ribbon were a rak with my order for a Christmas collage stamp. So this is what I did with it. Actually it looked fairly simple to try and make one of these folder pockets myself but I wouldn't be any good at rounding the edges nicely. I will probably try though.

Just added this having tried this stamp with gold embossing. I painted over it with watered down distress ink afterwards.

Gothic arch challenge - Pink

As I love pink and had some scraps in the Scrapbasket I thought I would join in after a long absence this week. I love finding a home for images and paper that have not found their rightful place yet.

This second card I just had to share with you - it's from Sylvie and I was very excited to receive a piece of her beautiful work. Seen IRL shows so much more! Thank you Sylvie for thinking of me!

It is time for the 'Vendanges' here in France. That is the word given to the grape harvest. This picture shows how far the grapes are, having just had some rain to fatten them out a bit! Just a week ago a downpour of hail stones arrived in certain villages around ours. We were not hit but several cars in those villages were seriously dented. Hail in September is a wine farmers nightmare as it can destroy his whole crop.

Hero Arts weekly challenge - Holiday cards

Nice to get a move on with the Christmas cards. Here are a couple of entries to the Hero Arts website.

This first card is using the tree I used in my last posts - I just got a 'coup d'inspiration' so to say and it was made in no less than 10 minutes. Think I will make more of these. The snow is made with a SU! stamp dated from 1997 which I bought via a lady from Two Peas a couple of years ago. I wanted to create a scene I could call 'Peace'.

This second card is made using the stamp 'Sketchbook flowers' from HA. I happened to see it on sale so I didn't hesitate! It is quite multi-functional, so I made the investment.

At last!

Here I stamped with the tree on the prima flower.

I have been waiting six weeks for this little stamp set to arrive!

Finally this morning it came and I just had to experiment with this cute little tree.

News about our son - he is loving being where he is, surrounded with lots of love and kindness, as he put it himself!

Exciting news

Just spent a mini-weekend in our favourite Spanish coastal spot as an advanced pressie for my birthday 11/09 from DH!! Actually, it went together with a little bit of sad news (because I will miss him) which isn't really sad, it's fantastic in the long run.... we put our son Joël, 16 years, on a plane heading to the Netherlands last Sunday where he will be attending a Bible School together with 80 other students for a year! It was totally his own choice, having recently definately made his choice to serve the Kingdom of God and follow Jesus. He is the first one of our sons to take this step! It is an answered prayer for me!
This is Joël now, and when he was three years old - such a great guy to have around! We are so thankful.
There will be alot of practical work to do too as I know that a trip to Romania to practically help people in building projects will be something he will be involved in.

I made a little book for him as a souvenir with photos of the family in it.

I have also been busy trying to think of something for the challenge at Hero Arts, which is to make a holiday card. I must admit that I am not super inspired at the moment so I hope to have another go later in the week.
Note to Michelle of Inspiration Blooms - I am finally using the Christmas paper you sent me.... thanks!
