Less is more - color scheme

This is the color inspiration photo for this week's challenge over at the blog Less is More, which can be found here.

And this is my very simple CAS card which I made with three distress markers; Tea dye, spun sugar and antique linen.

Flower stamp is Darkroom doors, sentiment is Crafty Individuals.
A CAS card is not easy for me to do and it took me several times to stamp it to my liking. Here is what I did with the panels I wasn't happy with:

I just make a grid and have two cards.

Inspiration from a Tea Cup

Happy Monday!
I have been wanting to make a card, inspired by my Tea cup and this afternoon I did it. The cup has two big birds on it, pink flowers, brown swirls (I used leaves), script, a butterfly and some post marks.

I layered the stamps using distress markers. The Carte Postale stamp is from Stampendous, very useful in collages (used walnut stain). The bird is one of my all-time favorites, from Artistic Outpost. I started with a blue distress marker (weathered wood) which I colored the top half of the bird with, then I colored the middle part with light brown and then the underside with dark brown. I then sprayed the stamp with a light spray of water before I stamped. The pink flowers are from a Spring collage stamp from Hero Arts, just used part of the stamp. The brown leaves are from a stamp I found in the sales here on a French Website, called Florilèges, only half price. The little dragonfly is a tiny stamp from an acrylic stamp set.

I had made two - but this one didn't turn out how I liked it, so I punched it out into squares and made a grid. Nothing goes to waste.

And this is my tea cup... I'm planning on making another one, probably much more similar when I can find a big bird stamp to my liking.

Collage

I know, it has been quiet around here. I haven't been inspired for quite some time. We were away last weekend, as DH and I were invited to share our testimony of how God has worked in our marriage in a Church in the region - not often that we get an opening like that but I really pray to be an instrument in His Hand to bless others.

I can report that David is doing well. It has been difficult because I saw so much sadness in his eyes the last couple of times when I picked him up for the weekend, it really upset me. I think he felt abandoned. All of a sudden he would cry for no apparent reason. I never know really what is troubling him as he doesn't talk... I was able to give him as much love as possible and his battery was recharged to go back on Monday. When I fetched him last time, I saw a sparkle in his eyes again and that reassured me. I asked many people to pray and God is so faithful to answer prayer!

I also want to share a link to a story I read this morning on Ross's blog here. How God see's a lonely person in a huge crowd and is able to answer a need through a little girl. It will encourage you. Isn't God wonderful!!
God went so far in His Love that He gave His Son to die on a Cross because our sins had separated us from Him and justice had to be done. The most beautiful word God ever gave is the word GRACE - it means 'totally undeserved merit' - and He still gives it freely every day.


Last night I was looking through my cards and I got inspired by this one by Helle:

This is the second time I am casing her beautiful card. I enjoyed the process so much!

I used the Swirl Frame stamp from Hero Arts to make a little fence, which I stamped after I had lightly distressed the panel and stamped some flowers on it. I added some stamped hearts, a postmark and some script as well as some French tekst and a diecut ribbon. I couldn't get my colors any darker because my distress inks are running dry..

Valentine's Card - French themed.

Today I wanted to share a Valentine's card - I never usually make them, only one for DH, but I have been seeing so many 'heart' cards everywhere that I just had to try one myself.

I used a doily and stamped and cut out some of the heart-stamps I have. Kept it French themed with the Bonjour sentiment from Hero Arts.

Simple nature cards

These cards were very simple to make.

All I did was stamp the Postcard Tag on a piece of patterned paper (thank you Sue), cut them out, added embellishments, extra stamping, cut out a couple of butterflies and then adhered the tag to card stock. I then cut around the tag and added some string.

O yes, I wanted to share a card that was a Fab5 yesterday on the Hero Arts blog, was so lucky to win some stamping goodies!

Stamped the Postcard Tag onto patterned paper and cut out. Used half the image of the Starburst Lace Stamp from Hero Arts which is embossed. The butterfly is cut out from PP. Added some pearls and a ribbon and its ready.

Using up the scraps!

Hello from a rainy, cold, windy South of France. Hope you are all well.

This design is something I saw on Pinterest and got instantly inspired by it. Not only is it a different sort of grid design (which I love), but it uses up the scraps and is so fun to mix and match.

I cut myself a little curve first and then layered the scraps. After adhering them, I cut off the excess paper. Added a little prima flower and a crochet flower (thank you Sally (dogwoodmnr) and my favorite embellishment which are the gems! The stamped images of the flower and leaf are both Hero Arts.

Less is more - Kraft and Kreme

The challenge, which I love to give a go when I get inspired, is Kraft and Kreme today over on the challenge Blog, Less is More. The link can be found here. Happy second Anniversary too!

Very simply, adhered a doily to a Kraft base card, embossed a tulip on kreme patterned paper, cut out and adhered to the doily with dimensional tape after I had tied a little bow to the flower.
