This month's challenge on Virginia's View Challenge blog is Stitching. I am not good with a sewing machine and mine goes so fast (cannot slow it down :) that it's a waste of time even to think about it... A while ago I made some Tea Bag pockets with stitching, don't know why my sewing machine has seemed to age since then.
But, faux stitching is allowed and when I thought of my Hero Arts Stamp called 'Square Stitched Edge background that's when I saw a possibility to enter the challenge.
This is the inspiration photo - so many different ways to use stitching on a card!
I always love your grid cards, you really have an eye for colour. I'm all for faux stitching, but my reason is mainly because I am too lazy to take out the sewing machine each time and it's too bulky to really leave on my work surface. But, I also don't know how to do any fancy stitching! (Yes, I never understood the whole thing about Zentangle Stamps, I want to draw my tangles, not stamp them!)
ReplyDeletePerfect! I have hunted for this stamp at my used stamp sale for years......still looking!
ReplyDeleteLin took the word right out of my mouth - Perfect! Wonderful take on Virginia's challenge, Jacqueline! Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteI love your grid cards too but this one is off the charts. Most faux stitching is very even but his stitching is not even. Beautifully done card Jacqueline. Bravo.

Lovely card - the faux stitching is just the ticket for these squares. Love the colors!! I prefer faux stitching on cards and hope to get a card or two made for this challenge.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - I wish my scraps were as gorgeous as yours! That stitch stamp is so cool - I genuinely thought it was real stitching :)
ReplyDeleteI am amazed...because your faux stitching looks SO REAL! You know why? It's because your stamping on the inchies is so masterful and that really make the stitching look like part of the art work! Thanks again for sharing your talent,Jacqueline! Thanks for playing Virginia's View Challenge.

Beautiful! Love your emerald colors, Jacqueline! Thank you for your thoughtful words on my blog. I was looking for you on Facebook today and could not find you. Did you leave it? In January I deleted Facebook from my phone so that I would not be distracted during the day. It was a good decision:)
