Hi blogging friends! Today I had my fifth Chemo session and it went better than I had imagined.. not too many people, no stress, the room had been aired and the doctor smiled at me ;). Have noticed that I am loosing my eye-lashes and although I already only had two thin line of eyebrows, they are gong too! That is hard!
The temperature is 34 degrees C (94°f) here which is hard to do anything in at the moment, but when I saw the challenge, which can be found here on the City Crafter Blog, was scraps, out came my basket and I quickly put something together with what I had. The only thing I added were flowers I stamped (from Artistic Outpost) on the left side of the center panel, as the bird was already on it.
My camera is broken so I had to scan this, but at least the colors are true to life!
Thank you for your continual support, I appreciate it so much! Just to give you an indication of how well it went after the last Chemo, my white blood count (Leucocytes) was 1 960 and went up to 5 380 in three weeks time - the doctor said that it was a perfect report! What a blessing, thank you Father God!
Good to read everything went well today. Your card is gorgeous as always. Hugs, Petra

Beautiful!! love your style ... so glad that your session went well ... thanks for playing along at CCCB ... sending well wishes your way
lieve groet,
Wilmi
The journey is coming to an end time Jacqueline. Losing your hair and trims are huge in respect to how you feel about yourself, no-one wants to loose their hair and no amount of practical responses such as 'it is a small price to pay for the treatment' is very comforting while it is happening, it is hard to look in the mirror right now I would imagine......
ReplyDeleteBut there are positives, your hair will grow again it may take awhile but you know it will happen, it maybe a different colour too!You seem to be coping really well so be proud of this as it has been a difficult journey for you, just one more now.....you are doing it bravely. Your card is beautiful and does not look anything like scraps.
Smiles:)
You certainly do have the most beautiful scraps! Gorgeous card, my friend! I'm so glad to hear it went well this round. Sending up prayers that your side effects will be minimal and you will continue to stay strong. . .you truly amaze me! Hugs and more hugs!
ReplyDeleteI wish my scrap basket had the quality scraps that your basket has! Beautiful card! "All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well." A long ago quote from Lady Julian of Norwich that I wish for you! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear it went well! That is good news to hear.
ReplyDeleteLove the card; you are doing so well, I admire you Jacqueline.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you treatment when well today.. I know it must be hard to lose your hair and eyelashes and eyebrows. I can't even imagine. But you are such a beautiful person. With such a kind soul I just know God is smiling down on you!
ReplyDeleteBe strong and I will keep you in my prayers..

So pleased your chemo session went well. Love your pretty card and the scan is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that the chemo went well but loosing your eyelashes..it's one of the confrontations which are coming with chemo...I can imagine that must be hard.
ReplyDeleteI am still impressed by the way you handle the fact that you are diagnosed with cancer and how you deal with the chemo therapy. I don;t know how to write that in Englsh but I hope you know what I mean. Your card is - as always - breathtaking..Hugs; thinking of you and in my prayers....
Hi jacqueline
ReplyDeleteThis little message is from your sister Linda and Me, Pam. We are together at Christian Camp, having a great time and getting up to date with a few ideas for cards. Your blog continues to inspire me (Pam). It is raining here but Linda and I are very dry in a caravan. Love and prayer from Linda and Pam XxXxXxXxXxXxXx
We thank our God every time we remember you.

ReplyDeletei´m glad, to hear you feel well.
Your card looks beautiful.
Thinking of you, Sabine
Oh Jacqueline, I'm so happy for you with your white blood count and the lightened burden of chemo this time! My mom lost her eyebrows and lashes as well, but they grew back rather quickly (comparatively speaking, it doesn't take too long to grow back something that is so short to begin with). Your card is brilliant, love the wonderful layering of images! Take care, blessings to you as you near the completion of your treatment!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you had a good session and even better news of your cell count!
ReplyDeleteKeep your spirts up, blessings to you.
hugs Lynn
P.s. Another lovely card. nothing keeps you down for long!
