Today is World Down Syndrome Day

I couldn't let this day pass without a mention of my son David and to thank him for all the love and joy he has brought into our lives! When he was born into our family 24 years ago, it was love at first sight and every day since then, however challenging it was, David has been the most precious gift God lent to us to care for, together with our other three boys! I  posted a picture of him when he was a baby on my blog here, in 2011, and wrote how God used him to show us what is important in life and what isn't.

"For I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." Psalm 139:14

I feel very blessed to have one of these children.

Truly I say to you, In as much as you have done to one of the least of my brethren, you have done it unto me.
Math.25:40

  4. One of my best friends when growing up was a handy caped boy. He died of an epileptic fit in school one day. Your son brought back some very special memories. Your son looks a great deal like him. That was over 60 years ago. Bless you and your family.

  8. Bless you all Jacqueline. I tend to say these wonderful children have Up Syndrome instead of Down, for they're such cheerful, happy people! All the best, Ira

  9. Great video for the day, my nephew and his wife's first child, girl had downs, they ended up adopting a boy too from a family that didn't think they could handle him, they also have 4 other kids, and say they also feel blessed to have them in their lives, although the road has been hard at times, their oldest has turned 19.
