I didn't expect this theme on Louise's blog this afternoon as I was preparing myself to use butterflies and lovely light colors for the Spring! It is so soft and warm here. But that is often the case in the South of France and it can turn cold again.
I used part of a stamp from Sugar Lump Studios, of children on a sledge in the snow, using tea-dye distress ink. I decorated the outside of the tag with different winter foliage stamps in peeled paint and shabby shutters distress ink and used a sentiment that Louise sent me a while ago. It is one of my favorite words ' JOY' - and I always interpret it as the JOY of the Lord, because that is a precious thing to have. I have e-mail contact with a friend in Holland and we have decided to send each other joy-reports - it is a great reminder of everything we can be thankful for! So much can happen in just a week!
I made this one very quickly before I cleaned and put the stamps away - I have a little head-start for next year Christmas now.
Your tag is as always so beautiful and feminine. I like the idea of emailing joy reports. So often our emails have negative things in them. BTW, we woke up to a beautiful landscape of ice-coated trees and bushes. Very wintry indeed.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, I am also a big fan of Joy!! And I do love your tag!

I didn´t expect a winther theme and i am so tired of snow. The last two months we have so much snow in Denmark.
ReplyDeleteLove your warm winter tag. Great use of leaf stamps.
This is gorgeous and it's wonderful to see how this turned out using distress ink for stamping. I rarely use them for inking up my stamps but looking at this I certainly will give it a try. Gorgeous tag; the sentiment speaks to my heart...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Tag!

Wonderful tag no matter what the season.....I was actually GLAD to see winter as the theme as winter for me has several months to go even though the last week was unseasonably WARM for this time of year but have no fear....the abominable snowman will return before April gets here that is for sure!!
