Scraplings

What is a Scrapling - Quote:

The idea came about by trying to use up all the scraps we have in cardmaking. Specifically when you take a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card and cut off a piece to make a square greeting card you are left with a piece that is 1 1/2" x 4 1/4". With this piece and other "scraps" you have lying around you make a "mini" card. The size of the Scrapling is not written in stone, it is really a small or mini-sized version of a normal greeting card.

Unquote

I really had fun making these mini canvasses.

Just used a couple of paper scraps and a bird from the scrap basket. Added a Hero Arts sentiment a little bit of stamping at the top and the bottom.

I already had this stamped flower panel which I adhered to my mini card, added a butterfly which is cut out of the Nature Notes book from Edith Holden and I stamped the card top and bottom with HA's Lace design stamp.

Using stamps from SU's Nature Walk set which I recently found on Ebay. Here again I used a tag which was in my scrapbasket and a scrap piece of pp.

Until next time!

Spring collage

I was just playing with some scraps I had, being the tag and the eggs. I cut out the bird from an old book and found some patterned papers that I liked together.

We are having such beautiful weather - blue skies and a warm sun. I have been sitting outside this afternoon just enjoying the trees that are in blossom and this gorgeous weather!

Alcohol Inks

Every now and then I love to use my alcohol inks on glossy card stock. I used a Hero Arts collage stamp with white and gold embossing. The inks are: Cool Peri, Cranberry and Salmon.

I punched out six white and six gold squares and made a grid card.

Word Art Wednesday - The Fruit of the Spirit

I love the verse in Galatians 5:22 - they are not fruits, but one fruit which brings forth love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. We do not naturally bring forth such beautiful fruit, but when we are in Christ and He is in us, then this fruit will become visible in our lives. It gives me Hope. The challenge can be found here.

I used a piece of paper from an old magazine and stamped on it to create this card. There are so many different ways to be creative!

For my second card, I used the original verse that was available on the Website of Word Art Wednesday. Actually, I just used the vintage scraps that were laying on my table.

Now I want to share this ultrasound photo of my grand-daughter - isn't it amazing?? Just to see her little face already and I can tell she is going to look like her mum. I have indicated her nose, lips etc. by writing just next to it, so that I didn't cover it up.

This is another wonderful reflection of our Father God who is the Creator of all things!

Stamp collage

I had a piece of very old music paper in my scrap basket. This paper is very porous so it soaks up the ink but also achieves lovely colors, which I cannot get with patterned paper.

You can still see the original letters on the upper right hand side.. these were on the music paper. I just randomly chose some stamps and colors and stamped. Love doing that.

This was my little share for this week. Hope you are all doing well!

I am so excited!

At last I have an official wedding photo of my son Joël and his wife who got married in September 2012. They are going to have a baby as I told you. Yesterday they came round to show me the recent ultrasound photos that have been made and they are going to have a baby girl!! After having four boys, my first grandchild will be a girl and I am so excited. I saw her little face too, her chin, mouth and nose and she already looks like her mum! Her little feet are 3 cm long, how adorable is that and they are perfect! I am so thankful to God!

And yesterday it was David's 24th birthday - here is a picture of him in the car with Joël. He is doing very well at school and is a happy boy.

and I made him some chocolate cakes. He never used to be able to blow out candles but he can now!

Finally, I'm sharing a card I made for Deborah for the January Card Exchange project. The link can be found here. It is according to the sketch requirement.

and my card is pale in comparison with this beauty that I received from Lin Brandberry - it has lit up my Craft room for two weeks already and I am still enjoying it as it carries the message of Spring. Once again, Lin, thanks for this beauty!

Isn't Lin's card beautiful!
