Bird's of a Feather

The last three days have been the worst yet. I am still not well, hoping it will go over soon, that I can eat and drink again without feeling nauseas and having problems with the smell of everything, which is totally out of proportion! This time around I noticed I was much more emotional,  it's not only the body that suffers. My DH has been my comfort and he told me something I will never forget, he said, see your emotions, your feelings as instruments and servants but never let them master you!! I really liked that!
I also placed a little verse, with a tremendous impact in my left column - the Bible speaking to us about weakness - I pray to understand God's Power in my human weakness, so that I may boast in them and not complain.

I so wanted to play along with the City Crafter Challenge, never done that before - but the theme 'Birds of a Feather' just pulled me in and because I have seen beautiful Bird cards on so many blogs.
I stamped the Misty Garden background stamp (distress ink sprayed with water then stamped) from Hero Arts on beige card stock. Layered with one of my favorite bird stamps from Artistic Outpost (I know a robin should have a red breast), added some more layers around the edges with a bird stamp (inspiration from Franziska). The branch die cut is from Sue and the rolled flower at the bottom from Helle - thanks girls.

Have a blessed Sunday!

  4. You have such strength, Jacqueline. So much more than you even realize. I don't pretend to know as much as you, or your DH, about God and the bible, but I don't think God would mind too much if you complained a little bit, when going through such a tough time. I believe He would totally understand. I am praying that you feel better soon, both physically and emotionally! Your card is so beautiful! Love the soft colors and that gorgeous bird! Sending a ton of hugs and love!

  10. I thought perhaps the Robins in France were a bit different, with green breasts:)
Sorry to hear about the nausea again this go-round. And the emotions -- though I am not surpised. How our body could undergo something like cancer and not have it not affect our emotions? What DH said about that is so wise!

  11. My dear Jacqueline.
I was a little upset that you feel that you should not complain, your quote from the bible can be interpreted in many ways, yes you should embrace your weaknesses, recognise your shortcomings but what you are seeing as your weakness at this time is not of your own making! I give you permission to grumble about how rough you are feeling, your emotions are all over the place, if you want to cry, for goodness sake Just Cry my dear friend, your body is protesting NOT YOU!!!!!
You are Brave, you are Strong, AND you WILL get through this!
    Smiles:)

  18. Dearest Jacqueline, I am so sorry to hear these past few days have been the worst. Your husband's words are beautiful, but please give yourself permission to feel and express your emotions. You are very strong and brave, but it is only natural to have moments where our emotions do take over. I am a woman who is mostly bed-ridden after having an accident that tore a nerve in my neck; I try everyday to look at the many little moments that bring me pleasure and joy, but it is not always easy, and I fail many times. I, like you, get great strenght from my art. Your cards are so beautiful Jacqueline...and hey, he is your bird, he can be any color you want him to be LOL...much love to you my friend, you will get through this "And this too shall pass"...
I want to thank you again for all the paper you sent me; I love them and made a beautiful wedding card this week with some of them..

  19. Jacqueline: Do you realize what an inspiration you are to the people that frequent your blog. I think it's okay to complain...I know God would not mind. I can't imagine being nauseated all the time..to me that is just awful..I can't handle a week of the flu..I complain. I sure hope you get some relief. Your cards are just beautiful...wish I had that much talent. God Bless You and Keep You In His Care.

I am still amazed how you can craft when you not are feeling well. I love your bird card and I adore the bird stamp. I hope that Hero Arts some day will make a good looking bird stamp.

    Big hugs

  22. What a beautiful card. Who says a robin has to have a red breast? Isn't that what creativity is all about? Originality - make it yours and it's gorgeous!

Gods creations are works of love and beauty. You, my friend, are a creation of our Lord. Your words are such inspiration to us all - you could never imagine how much we appreciate you. Hugs.
