Batik Technique
I haven't been very well this week so I'm doing a quick post today. I'm quite sad because I can only have David home for a day, as I can't care for him as I would like to because of this flu bug.
.
Just sharing a card with the Batik technique and the Leafy Vines stamp from Hero Arts.I used distress inks to paint the background. When dry I ironed off the clear embossing powder.
Jacqueline, thank you so much for sharing all of the beautiful things you make. You have been instrumental in my progress as a card-maker, your work is so uplifting and inspirational to me. I actually taught my first card class last weekend and am almost ready to teach my next one (in southern Oregon, USA) I feel like I needed to thank you for helping me get to where I am with this... I appreciate your creativity and willingness to share it. I hope you are feeling better now. By the way, this card, as usual is gorgeous!!
gorgeous gorgeous card Jacqueline! I would like to know more about your technique for this card .. it's so beautiful. I did some batik on material many many years ago using wax and cold water dyes. It was lots of fun and I loved the result. You have been on my mind and my thoughts and prayers have been with you and David. I'm hoping that you'll get lots of rest so that you recover quickly. sending you a hug, Susanne
What a gorgeous batik print with the leafy vines, Jacqueline! Saw your note on Flickr - you are right, this post doesn't show up on my feed as a new one. But I reached it from a previous post by seeing there was a "newer" button. Hope it resolves for you!!
Very pretty, Jacqueline! I did not see your post in the Reader. It is good you let me know. I've heard the news that the Google reader will no longer be available after summer. So I will be using a different reader.
Jacqueline, this card is so gorgeous as always. Your inspiration is endless and now I'm hoping you feel better soon. I'm sorry you could not spend more time wth David, hopefully having him in your heart and keeping the faith makes the distance a little closer:-)Have a beautiful weekend.. Hugs
Such a beautiful, serene card, Jacqueline - absolutely lovely with such a creative technique! Been thinking about you and hope you continue to feel better. Sending healing thoughts your way and hoping you'll soon be able to spend more time with David...
I hope you are feeling better, Jacqueline. This is a wonderful technique and your card is, of course, GORGEOUS. Thanks for the inspiratio to try something new.
Wat vervelend dat je ziek bent! Heel veel beterschap toegewenst! Deze kaart is echt prachtig, erg mooie kleuren en die vlinder is ook erg mooi. Groetjes, Hanneke
A serene and peaceful card. I hope you feel better soon. I lost some of the threads of your posts I'm afraid as I saw a while back your request for prayers for David but did not understand the nature of the situation. No matter, I keep you and you're family in my heart and prayers. I hope you have a better week. Hugs, Yvonne
Oh this is so beautiful!! What lovely colours ... Sorry you can't have David home ... I know you must feel sad but you need to get well and there will be other times ... you can celebrate the meaning of Easter again with David when you are well ...
So sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope your feeling better soon. Love the beautiful card and what a wonderful technique. Thank you sharing. Blessings and take care.
That is the most beautiful card I have ever seen. I am 75 and still make cards for my family. Would it be possible for you to tell me how you painted background . I just bought some of the oxide distress inks. Thank you Nancy
