Leaf Cluster stamp from Hero Arts

This is a case of a card by Shari Carrol which can be found here, its her video on how she made it using the layered watercolor stamping technique. I thought her elements went so well together and had to try it myself. I have invested in a design block Envelope pattern stamp and I think it will prove really effective.

This is another card using the same stamps but entirely differently. I used three different distress ink colors on a 10x15 sheet of acetate and misted with water for the background. (Actually, I found the acetate in the Cling packaging). Used Envelope pattern stamp over the background and then when dry, embossed the Leaf Cluster and Happy Birthday dictionary stamp over the top. Added some embellishment and gems.

Happy Birthday

These are the stamps I used

It is still raining here - my son can't go to school because of an 'Orange Alert' which means that his transport is not allowed to go on the roads due to flood alerts.
See you next week ;)

I love them both, Jacqueline but that first card is stunning with the muti-colors on the leaves! I'm so glad you're enjoying the Envelope Pattern. . .isn't it fabulous?!

I watched the video and this technique is beautiful. You created two gorgeous cards and my favorite is the second one. I just love that color combo and the LO of this card. You have your own style and there is always an elegant touch. Perfection in every detail; not just a card but ART! Love it!

Jacqueline these cards are gorgeous - I'm going to check out that tutorial you mentioned - I love the colours. Thanks for popping by my blog - do you know although I have sage growing in the garden and I use it for clearing spaces sometimes I'm not a lover of it to eat or drink - not sure I could stomach sage tea although I know its good for clearing out the system.

This technique of Sharis was not as easy as it looked Jacqueline as many who have tried and failed would attest to, but you on the other hand have managed to get it to work, well done your cards are beautiful.
Smiles:)

Beautiful backgrounds and lovely cards. Love the mix of colors you achieved. Sounds like a lot of rain if they are worried about flooding. I think you are high up enough to not have to worry about your home. :)

I haven't mastered this technique yet and will keep trying. You certainly have and both cards are lovely! I ordered the envelope pattern stamp after vowing not to order more stamps for a while. I think it will be worth breaking that vow. Thanks for sharing. You give us inspiration!

Love what you have done with both cards Jacqueline. Isn't that envelope pattern just awesome for some subtle texture without weight! Like your idea of using the acetate in the cling stamp pack too...

Beautiful cards, Jacqueline! I 've also tried this technique, but I didn't finish it into a card yet. I've ordered that envelope pattern-stamp also. It gives just a little bit more. Great work again!
